David tells Barbara that Chris told Meg that he was visiting friends, and Barbara guesses that Chris was at the Coach House with Alison.

Eddie Lee brings a van into the garage workshop.  Joe MacDonald see's it and says it's going to take a long time to do it up.  Eddie Lee asks Joe if he would like to stay and help him, but Joe says he can't because he is taking Trina to dinner at the motel for their wedding anniversary.

Reg Lamont comes into the garage and pretends that he doesn't know Eddie Lee.  He tells Eddie that he would like his car seen to.  "If you'd like to come into the office we'll fill in a sheet," says Eddie Lee.  They both go into the office and Reg Lamont gives Eddie a brown envelope with a thousand pounds in.

That evening Joe MacDonald arrives at the Motel dressed very smartly, and Meg on reception duty asks him what the special occasion is.  Joe tells her it's his and Trina's wedding anniversary and they are having dinner in the motel restaurant.  Meg looks at the reservation books and tells Joe that she can't find a booking in his name.  Joe tells Meg that he asked Doris Luke to fix it days ago.

Reg Lamont arrives in reception with an attractive young woman, and they sit in reception.

Doris Luke joins Meg at the reception desk and Doris tells Meg that she passed on the message about Joe MacDonald's restaurant booking to Sandy.  Meg tells Joe that she is sorry but the restaurant is fully booked this evening.  Joe MacDonald walks over to where Eddie Lee is sitting in reception and tells him what has happened.

Eddie Lee goes over to the reception desk and talks to Meg.  "A friend of mine booked a table and all of a sudden you're booked.  What's wrong?  Don't you like his kind?" asks Eddie Lee.  Meg tells Eddie Lee that there has been a mix up with the bookings which is entirely their fault.  Eddie Lee takes the reservation book and runs his finger down the page.  "There is nothing we can do about it," Meg tells him.  "We'll see about that," says Eddie Lee.

Eddie Lee walks over to reception where Reg Lamont and his friend are sitting.  He tells Reg Lamont that he understands that they are eating here this evening.  "Not recommended," Eddie says quietly.  He explains that the motel has a new chef and he's not very good.  Reg Lamont says they will eat somewhere else, and Eddie tells him that there is a good restaurant not too far away.  Eddie Lee watches Reg Lamont and friend leave the motel, and then makes his way over to the reception desk.  "I think I've solved your booking problem darling," he tells Meg.

At the Coach House David takes a phone call from Chris.  At the mention of his name Alison Cotterill disappears into the kitchen.  Barbara tells David that she would like aprivate talk with Alison, so David goes for a walk.  Barbara joins Alison Cotterill in the kitchen.  "You're in love with Chris aren't you?" she asks Alison.  "Yes," replies Alison.  She says if only she could talk to Chris she knows it would be alright.

Later, David returns to the Coach House after Alison has left, and he asks Barbara how her talk went.  "I hate him.  I hate your son," Barbara tells David.  David stares at her.

Lloyd Munro buys Meg some flowers to thank her for finding him a housekeeper.

Doris Luke goes to Stonebank Farm to talk to Alison, but Reg Cotterill tells her that Alison isn't in.  Reg tells Benny to go and pick some strawberiies for Doris Luke.  He tells Doris that they have more strawberries than they can pick and asks her if she knows anyone who would be willing to help them pick them.  Doris tells him that she will ask around.

Doris Luke goes to the Brownlow's house and tells Kath that Reg Cotterill is looking for someone to help pick strawberries at Stonebank Farm.  Kath Brownlow asks Iris Scott if she would like to go and pick strawberries and Iris turns up her nose at the suggestion.  Iris Scott asks Kath where it is and Doris tells her that it's at Stonebank Farm.  "That's the place you were telling me about," says Iris.

Diane Hunter asks Sharon Metcalfe if she has told Victor Lee about her and Eddie, and Sharon says she has tried but can't seem to find the right moment.  Diane tells Sharon that she will invite her and Victor to dinner at her flat and then halfway through the evening she'll leave and she can tell him then.

Doris Luke visits Benny at Stonebank Farm and takes Iris Scott with her.  Doris introduces Iris to Benny, and Reg Cotterill.  Doris tells Reg that Iris Scott would like to help him pick the strawberries.

Diane Hunter asks Victor Lee if he would like to come to dinner at her flat this evening, and bring a guest.  Victor asks Sharon Metcalfe who accepts.  Victor Lee asks Diane if it would be alright if he bought Eddie along.  "Sure," says Diane, looking at Sharon.  Victor says he will go and ask Eddie in case he has fixed something else up.  He leaves the garage office.  "Well, that's messed it up, hasn't it," Diane tells Sharon.

Benny gives Iris Scott some strawberries.  Reg Cotterill comes into the room and asks Iris what she thinks about the job.  "Yeah, alright.  I'll start tomorrow," says Iris.  "I think I'm going to like it here," she says.

Barbara and David Hunter sit down with Alison Cotterill and David asks her if she feels comfortable at the Coach House.  Alison tells them that she enjoys working here.

Barbara prepares to leave for her trip to Japan.  David stands and looks at her, and she asks him what is wrong.  "I was just memorising your face," David tells her.  He says he hadn't realised until now that she was actually going.  he kisses her and asks her if she isready to go.  He picks up her suitcase and follows Barbara to the door.  Barbara stops at the door and turns to face David.  "What is it?" David asks.  Barbara puts a finger on his lips.  "Just memorising," she says.

Iris Scott recovers from her first day picking strawberries at Stonebank Farm.  She tells Ron Brownlow that her back is killing her.  She sits on the settee next to Ron and asks him to massage her shoulders.  Ron begins to massage Iris's shoulders and back and Arthur Brownlow comes into the room.  He stops when he see's Ron and Iris, then leaves the room again.

Alison Cotterill arrives at Stonebank Farm and tells Benny that she is going to her room.  Benny asks her if she is alright and Alison says she is just tired.  Benny says ever since she met Chris Hunter she has been unhappy.  Alison tells Benny that Chris phoned from Spain yesterday.  "I answer the phone sometimes," says Alison wistfully.  "Are you sure you want to see him?" asks Benny.  "Of course I am," says Alison.  "But what if he doesn't want to see you," says Benny.  Alison stares at Benny and then runs upstairs.

At Diane Hunter's flat Diane, Sharon, Victor and Eddie relax after dinner.  They run out of drink and Eddie Lee says he will go and get some from the off-license.  Diane says she will go so Diane and Eddie decide to go together.
