July 1965.  Romance for milkman Ralph Palmer and waitress Christine Fuller begins in the Motel kitchen.  But the wedding at the Parish church is a grand affair.  The whole district cheers as they drive away in a hired Rolls Royce.  Ralph was played by Norman Jones and Christine by Alex Marshall.

September 1965.  And for widowed Meg Richardson and Business tycoon Hugh Mortimer it looks like happiness at last.  But it isn't to be.  The love that seems so right to their friends, goes wrong with the arrival of the sophisticated Louise Borelli.  She causes a rift that is never mended.  Hugh goes off to Australia and weds the daughter of a business colleague.  There's to be no happiness for him, either; his bride is to die after a major operation.
