Ronald Allen fell whilst climbing a cliff on holiday in Spain. Once back at work he collapsed with a cracked rib.
Ronald Allen returned from holiday in Turkey and was rushed to hospital in the middle of the night. They thought
he might have typhoid and he was placed in an isolation ward. It wasn't typhoid but he was in hospital for three weeks.
Ronald Allen went to Spain on holiday with long-time friend and fellow actor Brian Hankins. Hankins suffered from
cancer and died whilst they were on holiday. The task of arranging for the body to be flown home fell to Ronald Allen.
In February 1979 Ronald Allen spent a week in Birmingham's Good Hope Hospital suffering from a severe bout of flu.
