Only don't expect to coo with grandma Meg over the new baby.  The child will have been mysteriously 'lost'.  And Jill won't be reunited with husband Stan.  Ted Clayton, who played him, has left the series.

 

Jill returns in November, by which time pretty Jane Rossington, who has played her since the early days, will have recovered from the birth of her son Harry, two months ago.  Jane is not sorry she won't be changing nappies on screen as well as off.

 

"It's so difficult acting with small children - they never do what the script asks of them and they are a distraction at rehearsals," she said.
