Ronnie Allen and Sue Lloyd re-appeared on Wogan following their departure from Crossroads.
Ronnie and Sue performed a song and dance routine dedicated to Crossroads. Find the lyrics here.
Terry welcomes Ronnie and Sue back to the show, and reminds the audience that although Sue and Ronnie had been on
the show prior to their departure from Crossroads, they had not wanted to divulge how the Hunters would actually be leaving.
Sue tells him that their continuing story is going on in a daily paper, and Terry remarks that the newspaper story is
a little steamy. "Do you think that could lead to another soap opera? The continuing saga of you pair?" asks Terry. Ronnie
says he see's absolutely no reason why not, and Sue remarks that it would in America.
Terry tells Sue and Ronnie that he watched their final episode the previous night, and jokes that because Crossroads
is shown at different times in different regions, it meant that all over the country they left at a different time.
"I noticed that you seemed to be fighting back the tears Sue," says Terry, and asks if the tears were real. Sue tells
him that they were, and that she was really quite upset.
"You got these two green boxes. What was in the boxes?" asks Terry, referring to the gifts which the Hunter's were
given by the motel staff on their departure. Ronnie explains that the Romans called them tear glasses, that they were
to catch the tears.
Terry asks about the new manageress, and he tells Ronnie that he thought there might have been something going on
between her and David Hunter. Ronnie tells him that was his intention, he thought that if he played it that way
the producers might change their minds and say they would put him back.
Terry asks Sue and Ronnie if they wish the old motel well, and Ronnie says yes. "There is a tiny, evil corner of
one's ego that rather hopes the viewing figures drop a little," laughs Ronnie. "Just for a little while.
We don't wish them any real harm," adds Ronnie. Terry tells Ronnie that he thinks that's very honest of him, and that's
probably what most actors would think and probably not say.
Terry asks the couple what their plans are and Sue tells him that she and Ronnie will be appearing in Blott on the Lanscape
shortly. Ronnie says he is looking forward to the release of the movie Supergrass, which is the latest Comic Strip film.
"The last time you were here you flashed this gi-normous sparkler at me," says Terry, referring to Sue's engagement
ring. "Has it got any closer?" asks Terry, to which Ronnie laughs and accuses Terry of being impatient. Sue tells
Terry that bothing has happened, and Terry tells Ronnie that it's high time he made an honest woman of Sue. Ronnie
playfully thumps the arms of the chair and stands up in mock confrontation mode. "Yes, are you going to do that
darling," asks Sue, to which Ronnie laughs.
