Background
The shooting script for 'The Troubled Spirit' was ready by November 11th, 1974.
Filming began on the episode on November 20th.
There was trouble with the censors and some portions featuring the horrific Mateo spectre, complete
with badly scarred and disfigured face make-up were cut, as it was considered unsuitable for family viewing.
Mateo was played by Italian actor Giancarlo Prete and he was the first guest star brought in as part
of the deal with RAI.
The glass cases in the Hydroponics section are the same ones the aliens and Helena sit in from 'War
Games'.
The original script featured a quintet of musicians, including Bergman, giving a concert. This
was altered to just composer Jim Sullivan playing the guitar.
