Tom Peterson asks Jill Harvey why she invited him and Rita Hughes to dinner and Jill tells him that Rita was saying that they lived out of suitcases and she thought they would enjoy a meal.  Tom tells Jill that the reason he and Rita get on so well is that they don't see each other too much.

Sandy asks Iris Scott and Glenda Brownlow if they could both go and help in the cafeteria.  Glenda goes to see Sandy alone and asks if she can be excused from working in the cafeteria with Iris because they've had an argument about Kevin Banks.  Sandy phones the kitchen and tells one of the girls to tell Shughie McFee that he will be sending two of the kitchen girls to work in the cafeteria.  "Yes I'm sending Iris and Stephanie," he says.  "Thank you Sandy," says Glenda.  "Anything for a quiet life," says Sandy.

Later Reg Cotterill tells Alison that Doris Luke called at Stonebank earlier and she said that her religion is good enough for her.  Alison tells Reg that she has been thinking about this for weeks and she has prayed for guidence, and she wants to pray for the rest of her life.  "I want to become a nun," says Alison.  Reg stares at her.  "I want to pray, to worship for the rest of my life," she says.  Reg says surely she doesn't want to spend the rest of her life with a lot of old maids.

Marion Owen tells Iris Scott that Kevin has gone to see Glenda to try and make it up with her.  "No he can't do that," says Iris.  "Why not?" asks Marion Owen.  "It's gone too far," says Iris.  She sits down and starts crying.  "Iris, what is all this about?" asks Marion.  "I must be a really awful person, the things I do," says Iris.  Iris tells Marion Owen that she made her uncle Arthur throw her out because she wanted to come here and be with Kevin.

Marion Owen goes to see Kath and Arthur Brownlow and tells them that something should be done about Iris.  She says she thinks that Iris should come back to live with them but says that it's going to take a lot of understanding.

Benny tells Sister Catherine that Reg Cotterill doesn't like her coming to the farm.

Jill Harvey joins Meg and Sandy in the sitting room and Sandy tells her that David won't be back until January at the earliest.  He says he has sent a telegram to Adam Chance.  "We need him," says Sandy.

Adam Chance arrives at the motel and Meg tells him that Sandy sent the telegram, not her.  Meg tells Adam that he hurt Jill and she doesn't want that to happen again.
