Sandy receives a phone call from Barbara Hunter and he asks her why she isn't on her way to Algiers as she should be.  "Alison?  What's wrong with her?" asks Sandy.  Doris Luke, who is in the sitting room when Sandy receives the phone call, tells Sandy to tell Barbara that Alison Cotterill will be alright.

At Stonebank Farm Benny and Reg are in the kitchen when they hear a scream coming from Alison upstairs.  Reg Cotterill rushes upstairs.  Shortly after Reg comes back downstairs and tells Benny to go and phone for an ambulance.

Glenda Brownlow takes Tom Peterson tea in the reception area and notices him looking at something very complicated.  Glenda remarks that his work looks complicated and asks him how long it took him to learn.  Jill Harvey comes into reception and she see's Glenda talking to Tom Peterson.  "Glenda!" shouts Jill.  Glenda goes over to the reception desk and Jill tells her that she isn't paid to talk, and if she doesn't want to work then there are plenty who do.  Glenda goes into the kitchen.

Tom Peterson goes to the reception desk and tells Jill that it was his fault.  Jill tells him that Glenda is a bit lazy and needs watching.  Jill walks to the other end of the desk.  "I haven't finished yet," says Tom Peterson.  "Oh I thought you had," says Jill.  "That foolishness at the table was my fault, not the waitresses, so if there are any complaints bring them to where they belong," says Tom Peterson.

Doris Luke goes to Stonebank Farm and asks Benny where Alison is.  Benny tells Doris that Alison is in hospital.  Doris asks him if it has anything to do with the baby and Benny tells her that the doctor at the hospital said that Alison had lost a lot of blood.  Doris Luke leaves.  Benny sits down at the table and puts his hand onto the bible.  "Dear God.  I've never asked you for anything but please don't let Alison lose her baby," says Benny.

Sandy asks Kevin Banks if he would like to decorate some of the chalets and Kevin agrees.  Later Glenda Brownlow finds Kevin in the staff room and he tells her that he will be staying on longer as Sandy has asked him to decorate some of the chalets.  Glenda tells Kevin that she has to go to one of her father's dinners and he is making a speech.

Kath, Glenda, Kevin and Iris have a cup of tea together in the motel staff room and Glenda asks Kath if she could leave the dinner early because she and Kevin wanted to go out.  Kath tells her that she might be able to.  Glenda Brownlow tells Kevin Banks that she will meet him in the motel bar.

Iris Scott finds Kevin Banks in the staff room and says she is really happy for him and Glenda.  She says Glenda deserves a decent fella after the lot she's had.  Kevin says he thought there was only one man who frightened Glenda.  Iris tells him that there was someone else called Gerry but he was nothing but trouble.

Meg Mortimer meets Tom Peterson and asks him if everything is to his satisfaction.  Meg tells him that if he wants anything then he only has to ask.  Tom Peterson thanks her and says as long as he doesn't have to ask their receptionist.  Meg looks over to the girl on duty at the reception desk.  Tom Peterson says it's not that girl, it's the blond, pretty one.  "Oh thank you.  She's my daughter," says Meg.  Tom tells Meg that he just chatted to one of the waitresses and she got a telling off.  Meg promises to talk to Jill.  Tom Peterson says he would rather she didn't say anything because it would seem as if he was complaining.

Meg finds Jill Harvey in the sitting room and tells her to go home otherwise if she gets overtired she might start snapping at the guests.  Jill guesses that Meg has been speaking to Tom Peterson and asks if he has been complaining about her.  Meg says he hasn't.  "Has he a reason to?" asks Meg.  "He soon will have," says Jill and leaves angrily.

Jill Harvey goes into reception where she finds Tom Peterson.  She says she understands that he has been complaining about her.  Tom tells her that he hasn't been complaining but he just doesn't want to be the cause of anyone being dismissed.

In hospital Alison Cotterill receives a letter from Barbara Hunter, who apologises for leaving and asks her to think about joining her and David in Algiers.

Benny and Reg Cotterill visit Alison in hospital.  Alison tells them that the baby is dead.

Kath Brownlow asks Iris Scott what she did with herself last night whilst they were at Arthur's dinner.  Iris tells her that she went to the motel.  Glenda asks her if she saw Kevin Banks and iris says she did.  Glenda asks Iris what she talked to Kevin about and Iris says nothing in particular.

Later Glenda Brownlow finds Kevin Banks at the motel and says she knows he saw Iris Scott last night and bought her a drink.  Kevin says she musn't go reading anything into it, and if Iris makes anything of it then Glenda is to ignore her.

Iris Scott and Glenda tidy the motel sitting room and Glenda tells Iris that she knows what she is up to, trying to take Kevin away from her.  Glenda tells iris that Kevin is her boyfriend and they are going steady.  "Then why was he so keen to take me home?" asks Iris.  "Because I didn't want to see you get wet, did I," says Kevin Banks coming into the sitting room's open french windows and overhearing their conversation.

Benny visits Alison Cotterill in hospital and asks her when she will be coming home.  Alison tells him next week.  She tells Benny that he doesn't have to marry her now but Benny says he still wants to.

Tom Peterson goes to make a phone call from the pay phone in reception but someone else get there before him.  Sandy tells him that he can use the phone on the reception desk.  Tom Peterson dials the number and tells the person on the other end that he was out all night because he had to supervise a job.  "Look I haven't got time for this rubbish.  Goodbye," he says.

Tom Peterson see's Jill Harvey at the reception desk later and tells her that he has a friend in London who gets fed up with being alone.  "Well I'm sure he could find enough to amuse himself there," says Jill.  "Her," says Tom Peterson.  He tells Jill that he isn't sure if she is coming to the motel or not, and Jill says she would be grateful if he could let her know.

Meg joins Jill at the reception desk.  Jill cracks a joke and Meg says that's the first time she has heard her crack a joke for a long time.  "I couldn't resist it," Jill tells her.  "There's something else you should stop resisting.  Mr Peterson," says Meg.  "Do you hear what you've just said?" asks Jill.  Meg tells Jill that this warfare with Mr Peterson is bad, and that he is a guest.  "But he's so arrogant," says Jill.  "And so are you lately," says Meg.
