Meg returns to the motel and goes to the sitting room with an armful of new dresses.  Lloyd Munro joins her and notices that Meg is in a strange mood.  Meg tells him that she is just happy.

Adam Chance returns to Chimney's where Jill Harvey is preparing dinner.  She lights some candles and Adam opens a bottle of wine.  The doorbell rings and Jill answers.  She comes back into the dining room with Miranda Pollard.  "I had no idea I'd be breaking up such a cosy evening," says Miranda.  "It's not what you think," says Jill.  Miranda tells Adam that she knows that the house doesn't belong to him.  She tells him that she is going back to the motel to have dinner with her father.  "We won't be having wine and candles but at least there'll be a hell of a lot to talk about," shouts Miranda, and storms out.

Lloyd Munro tells Meg that his daughter has invited him to stay with her in America, and Meg says she envies him.  Lloyd suggests she comes with him.  "If only I could," says Meg.

At the motel, Miranda Pollard tells J. Henry Pollard that she saw Adam Chance and Jill Harvey together and they seem very friendly.  Miranda says she does care for Adam a lot.

Meg and Lloyd walk into reception discussing their possible trip to America.  Lloyd tells Meg all about Las Vegas and Sandy, who is listening, asks her if she is seriously going on holiday.

Arthur Brownlow asks Ron if he has decided to get a job on board ship or not.  Ron says he wants to stay on dry land until he is sure Arthur is alright.  Ron says he's not a fool, he knows there is something wrong.

In the sitting room Lloyd Munro and Meg talk about the American trip and Lloyd laughs at the expression on Sandy's face when they told him about the trip.  "He actually beleives you're going to the states," laughs Lloyd.  Meg looks at Lloyd.  "I am serious," she tells him, and Lloyd stops laughing.

Arthur Brownlow reads the local paper at the dining table.  "Oh no, you're not reading the death columns are you," laughs Kath.  "I'm here!" exclaims Arthur.  "What!" asks Kath.  "I'm here.  Look.  Brownlow, Arthur.  Suddenly at his home.  Peace before pain," quotes Arthur from the newspaper.  "Arthur, what does it mean?" asks Kath.  Arthur says it could be a jok but no-one knows about him except Kath and Doris Luke.  Arthur says Brwonlow isn't a common name and he'll go and ask Doctor Butterworth about it.

Lloyd Munro tells Meg that if they travel to America together it could cause gossip.  Meg says they aren't travelling together, she says that once she has been to America she's going to carry on and see the world.

Glenda Brownlow looks through the local newspaper and notices something has been cut out.  She asks her mother about it and Kath says it must have been something that interested Arthur.  "In the deaths column?" asks Glenda.

Meg telephones her brother Andy who runs a travel agency and asks him for information concerning her trip.  Jill comes into the office and listens to her mother saying that she wants to visit China and Japan.  "Is this a joke?" asks Jill, when Meg puts the phone down.  "I've never been more serious in my life," says Meg.

Diane Hunter goes to the hospital to visit David.  David says he heard what she did for Rosemary and he is grateful.  "I heard they fed you through tubes," says Diane.  "When I was in a coma," replies David.  David tells her that he is going for a walk later.  "It's surprising how your world shrinks when you're in hospital.  The most trivial things seem so important," says David.  Diane tells him that she knows what happened and that it wasn't an accident.  "I won't say anything.  Don't worry," says Diane.

Arthur Brownlow tells Kath that he showed the newspaper cutting to Doctor Butterworth and he said he would look into it.

Barbara Brady goes into David's room at the hospital and finds his bed empty.  She stares around her anxiously, and then hears a door open behind her.  A nurse comes into the room.  "Nurse.  Where's Mr Hunter?" asks Barbara anxiously.   The nurse moves to one side and David walks in shakily.  He is helped out of his dressing gown and into bed.

Barbara asks him what he is going to do when he gets out of hospital and David says he is going to take a long holiday.  Barbara notices some travel brochures by the bedside, and looks at them.  "The West Indies.  How long will you be gone?" she asks.  "How long can you be away?" asks David.  Barbara stares at him.  "Well you have got a portable typewriter haven't you?" asks David, smiling.  "I thought you'd never ask," says Barbara, and kisses him.

Glenda Brownlow finds a copy of the local paper in the motel staff room and looks through it to find out what her father cut out.  Doris Luke joins Glenda and Glenda points out a name in the deaths column.  "How awful.  Same name," says Doris.  "But why would my dad want to cut it out?" asks Glenda.

Meg goes to the hospital to visit David and finds Barbara there with him.  David tells Meg that he is going to the West Indies and taking Barbara with him.  "As my nurse.  Unqualified, untrained and unpaid," he says.  Meg tells him that she is going on holiday too, around the world.  David and Barbara stare at her, and David asks who is going to look after the motel.  Meg tells him that Tish Hope is going to help out.

The phone rings at the Brownlow house and Kath Brownlow answers it.  She hands the phone to Arthur.  "Yes.  Oh, you mean there was...I see.  Well I can hardly take it in doctor," says Arthur.  He puts the phone down.  "It's a miracle," says Arthur.  he tells Kath that there was a computer error and the Arthur Brownlow they read about in the paper was the one who only had six months to live.  "There's nothing wrong with me," says Arthur.  Kath hugs him.

Doris Luke goes to the Brownlow house and says she saw the notice in the paper of the death of a man called Arthur Brownlow.  Arthur tells Doris that it was all a mix up and they got his records mixed up with the other Brownlow's.  Ron and Glenda Brownlow arrive home and Doris prepares to leave, but Arthur asks her to stay and celebrate.  Ron asks what this is all about and Arthur tells him that he feels much better and he has changed his mind about retiring.  He says he is going to see if he can get his old job back.
