Diane talks to Chris Hunter on the phone and says she has just heard that she will have to wait three years for a divorce.  She tells Chris that she isn't going to wait that long.

Rosemary Hunter has a drink with John Farnham in the motel reception, and he asks her how long she will be staying.  Rosemary says he is the only one who wants her to stay.  "Stay on Rosemary," says John Farnham touching Rosemary's hand.  "Let's not talk about David.  He has nothing to do with us," he says.

Doris Luke helps Kath Brownlow prepare everything for the party at the Brownlow's house that evening.

Diane Hunter tells Steve Cater that she has to wait three years for her divorce from Chris Hunter.  "Two and a half years actaully," says Simone Clavell.  "Three years from the date of marriage," she tells Diane.

The party at the Brownlow's house is in full swing, but Arthur Brownlow tells his son Ron to turn the music down.  Arthur says he would like to make a speech, and Ron groans.  Kath Brownlow is a little surprised and tells Doris Luke that Arthur has never done anything like that before.

Rosemary Hunter tells David that she doesn't know what Chris could possibly see in Simone Clavell.  She says Simone has done enough to ruin Chris and she isn't going to let her ruin anything else for him.  "Chris will decide what he wants, not what you want!" shouts David.  Meg comes into the room and Rosemary apologises.  She says that must have sounded like an argument but it wasn't.  She goes to the door then turns to Meg.  "Meg, tell me one thing.  If Sandy was in some sort of trouble, I would say that you would do everything you could to get him out of trouble," she says.  "Yes I would, but since I don't know who you're talking about..." says Meg.  "I am talking about Simone Clavell," says Rosemary.

Kath Brownlow tells Doris Luke that she is fed up of the noise at the part and suggests they go out.  They leave and Arthur Brownlow stops the music and says it's about time he put on some decent music.  He says he'll put on a waltz.  Ron groans and says he is going to the pub to get more drink.

Ron's friend, Arnold, suggests they play a game of blindman's bluff and asks for a handkerchief to use as a blindfold.  "Now who's going to volunteer to be blindfolded.  Ah, Mr Brownlow," says Arnold.  Arthur says he doesn't mind so Arnold blindfolds him and turns him around three times.  As soon as he has finished Arnold grabs everyone and signals for them to leave the house.  Arnold tells Arthur Brownlow to start searching for people, then leaves the house himself.

Arthur begins to feel his way around the room.  After he has stumbled around the room for a while he removes the blindfold and finds the room empty.  He sits down in a corner realising that he has been made a fool of.  Ron Brownlow comes into the room with the drinks and asks Arthur where everyone is.  Arthur tells him that Arnold suggestted they play blindman's bluff.  "I'll sort Arnold Jennings out," Ron tells his father, and leaves before Arthur can stop him.

Rosemary Hunter goes to Lloyd Munro's cottage and has a drink with Barbara Brady.  Rosemary says the drink isn't having any effect on her.  "It must be the tension," she says.  Rosemary tells Barbara that she knows about her and David.  "One survives these things if one is strong.  These betrayals," says Rosemary.  "David hasn't betrayed you," says Barbara.  "We would have got back together this time if it wasn't for you," says Rosemary.

Lloyd Munro arrives at the cottage and Barbara Brady goes upstairs.  Lloyd asks Rosemary what is wrong.  "David's changed.  It's as if I'm his enemy. He's throwing everything away for this...woman," says Rosemary.  "Would you accept it?" asks Lloyd.  "It would be too painful to bare, thinking of David with another woman," says Rosemary.

Ron Brownlow arrives home with blood streaming from his nose and his eye red and swollen.  Arthur asks him what happened and Kath tells him that Ron was trying to stick up for him.

Simone Clavell receives a phone call from Chris Hunter.  Steve Cater and Diane wait outside and Steve asks Diane if she knows where Simone is going when she leaves here.  Diane says she doesn't know.  They both go into the living room and Simone tells them that she will be leaving for Constantinpole.

Raymond Hillyer books into the motel and talks to Meg, who is on reception duty.  Raymond Hillyer asks Meg how many partners are involved in the motel and Meg tells her that she and David Hunter are partners, and her daughter Jill helps out together with Adam Chance.

David Hunter joins Meg at reception a little while later and notices that she has a worried expression.  He asks her what is wrong and Meg tells him that she can't get Simone Clavell out of her mind.  "Why didn't you tell me she was here?" Meg asks David.  "I didn't want to upset you," says David.  "How I hate that woman," says Meg.  "Put it out of your mind.  Forget it," David tells her.  "I doubt if I ever can," says Meg.

Raymond Hillyer finds his way into the staff room and meets Doris Luke, who points out that this is a staff only area.  Raymond Hillyer asks her if he could use the telephone.  After Doris Luke has left the staff room Raymond Hillyer makes his phone call.  "Now listen Miss Crowther.  I've booked in as Raymond Hillyer.  So far there's no sign of Adam Chance," he says down the phone.
