Colin Dutton is working late in the garage office when Linda Welch comes in.  He tells Linda that his wife is expecting him home soon.  Linda says she phoned the farm and told them that she was having trouble with the van.
 
Kathryn Fisher and Ted Hope have dinner together at the motel to try to fool the private detective who Kathryn is convinced is following her.  They discuss some imaginary business.  Kathryn tells Ted that when Lloyd Munro comes in they must welcome him openly, as if they are expecting him.
 
Colin Dutton tells Linda Welch that they must stop seeing each other. 
 
Lloyd Munro appears in the doorway of the motel restaurant and Ted Hope and Kathryn Fisher welcome him loudly, and ask him to join them.
 
Linda Welch goes to the garage office the following morning and Benny tells her to stop hanging around the garage giving people ideas. 
 
Meg says goodbye to Adam Chance whose work at the motel is finished.  She also says goodbye to Jill and Sarah Jane who are on their way to America to stay with Anthony Mortimer.
 
Benny joins Trina Jameson in the staff room and she asks him if he has decided what he is going to buy Diane Parker.  "Ah, it's not her birthday," says Benny.  Trina tells him that Diane is getting married soon.  "Who's she getting married to?" asks Benny.  "Chris Hunter.  Mr Hunter's son," replies Trina.  "No Trina.  You must have got it wrong.  He's only a kid," says Benny.

Chris Hunter goes to the office and tells David that he heard he had spoken to Diane.  David says he asked Diane to reconsider her decision.  Chris says it hasn't changed anything.
 
Doris Luke comes to the staff room and Benny asks her if she knows that Diane is getting married.  Doris says she hadn't heard and presumes it's to Steve Cater.  Benny tells Doris that Diane is marrying Chris Hunter.
 
Chris tells Diane that he is going to throw a huge party.
 
Ted Hope waits at the antique shop for Kathryn Fisher to arrive to help him out in the shop.  At the motel Kathryn Fisher tells Tish Hope that she isn't going to go to the antiqoe shop anymore, she is going back to America.
 
Diane Parker goes to David's office and says she wants Chris to have his money but at the same time she feels sorry for David for being insulted.  David tells Diane that Chris wants their marriage to be a public affair and he wishes it would be kept quiet.  "Invisible marriage," says Diane.  "It is an invisible marriage," says David.  Diane says he could give her the sack but David says he hasn't got a good reason to ask her to leave, and anyway he doesn't want her to leave.
 
Diane joins Doris Luke and Benny in the staff room and Doris asks her if it is true that she is marrying Chris Hunter.  Diane says it is true.  "You didn't tell me," says Benny.  "I don't have to report to you," says Diane.  Benny walks out.  "Oh Benny," says Diane regretting she said that. 
 
Ted Hope comes into the motel and asks Tish where Kathryn Fisher is.
 
Diane explains to Doris Luke that Chris Hunter has been left £30,000 but he can't get the money until he is 35 years old or until her gets married.  Diane tells Doris that Chris is giving her £5000.  "You mean you're selling yourself," says Doris, horrified.
 
Tish Hope goes to the antique shop and Ted says now that Kathryn Fisher has left she won't be able to work at the motel because she will be needed at the shop.  Tish says when Kathryn was here she wasn't needed, so she isn't staying.  "I'm leaving," Tish tells Ted.  Tish packs a suitcase and goes to the motel.

Tish Hope asks Sandy for a chalet and tells him that she has left Ted.
 
David tells Rosemary that Diane and Chris are getting married next week by special license.  "Oh no, this can't happen," says Rosemary. 
 
Sharon Metcalfe receives a phone call from George Biggins at Heywood Farm and he asks her if their van is ready.  Sharon checks then tells him that she can't find any record of their van.  She checks with Joe MacDonald who doesn't remember repairing a van for Heywood Farm.
 
Colin Dutton returns to the garage office and Sharon tells him that George Biggins rang from Heywood Farm asking about their van.  Sharon says there is no record of the van ever being in the garage for repair.  She says she thinks Linda Welch has been making excuses in order to see Benny.
 
Chris Hunter asks Diane if she has thought anymore about having a party after their wedding.  "I want this to be a night to remember,"says Chris.  "Personally I want to forget it," says Diane.

Miss Tatum hands over her village shop to Cyril Watkins.  Doris Luke visits the shop and meets Cyril Watkins.
 
Kathryn Fisher goes to the antique shop to say goodbye to Ted Hope.

Linda Welch comes to the garage and Sharon Metcalfe asks her to go into the office as Colin Dutton would like to speak to her.
 
Trina Jameson is fed up with Joe MacDonald taking her for granted, so she makes a phone call to an old boyfriend whilst Joe is in the staff room.  Joe listens whilst Trina talks on the phone.
 
Colin Dutton tells Linda Welch that she shouldn't have made the excuse about the van being in the garage for repair.
 
David Hunter goes to Ted Hope's antique shop and says Rosemary saw a locket she liked.  Ted fetches the locket from the window.  "It's priced at £145," says Ted as David looks at the locket.  David hands the box and the locket back to Ted.  "To you £135" says Ted.
 
Sharon Metcalfe takes a phone call from Colin Dutton's wife and hands the phone to him.  After he has finished the call he tells Sharon that he and his wife are going out to dinner tonight, just the two of them.  He says he knows it sounds old fashioned but he is crazy about his wife.  "I haven't looked at another woman since we married," he tells Sharon.  "You know what.  I believe you," says Sharon, and leaves the office to go into the workshop.
 
Linda Welch comes into the workshop.  "Haven't you got a home to go to?" asks Sharon when she see's Linda.  "Home is where the heart is.  Isn't that right Benny," says Linda, and links arms with Benny, who tries to shrug her off.

Doris Luke asks Trina Jameson if she enjoyed her night out with whoever it was she was speaking to on the phone.  Trina tells her that she was talking to the speaking clock and she was just giving Joe MacDonald a taste of his own medicine. 
 
Sandy tells Diane that Chris has ordered quite a few crates of champagne for the wedding party and even with staff discount it's still going to cost a great deal.  Sandy notices that Diane isn't looking overjoyed and tells her that it isn't too late to back out. 
 
Sharon Metcalfe tells Joe MacDonald that the van from Heywood Farm is in for a free service because of a mix up.
 
Joe MacDonald asks Trina Jameson if she had a nice time last night with her new boyfriend, and Triana says she had a wonderful time.  Joe asks Trina out that evening but Trina says she is already going out.  "Oh," says Joe, and walks off. 
 
Chris finds Diane in the staff room and Diane tells him that she doesn't want a party.  "Alright we'll do anything you want," says Chris.  "Like not at all," says Diane.  "Alright, no party," says Chris.  "And no wedding," says Diane.  "You don't mean that," asks Chris.
