When a Chinese businessman is murdered, a young couple on honeymoon become the prime suspects.  John Drake flies out to the Far East to help them, and finds himself in a dangerous situation.

Trivia
 
The first episode was filmed in the northern Wales village of Portmeirion.  Patrick McGoohan would return here to film The Prisoner.
 
Based on his success as John Drake, Patrick McGoohan became one of the first actors considered for the role of James Bond in Dr No.
 
The show resumed production in 1964.  It was renamed Secret Agent for American distribution.
 
In the early series John Drake is clearly defined as being an American, but when the character returned in 1964 the character had become British or Irish.
