Ronald Allen was born in Reading, Berkshire on 16th December 1930, and had always wanted to be an
actor. Following his training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) he worked in repertory, made various television
appearances, and appeared in several films. But it is as a soap opera actor that he is probably best remembered.
In the early 1960s he landed the role of Ian Harmon in the BBC's Compact, then followed the role of Mark Wilson
in United. In 1971 he found his niche playing David Hunter in Crossroads.
Ronald Allen died, aged 60, of lung cancer in June 1991 and this website is my tribute to a much-loved actor.
I hope you enjoy it.
