Moonbase Alpha Status Report: 2012 days after leaving Earth Orbit

Alpha detects a space phenomenon and names it Tora.  Commander John Koenig and Alan Carter take an Eagle to investigate the phenomenon and determine whether there is a habitable planet at its centre.  So as not to raise false hopes Koenig has ordered the few people who are aware of the situation to keep it secret.  Command Centre has been placed off limits to all but a few chosen personnel.

Greg Sanderson, head of the surface exploration team, is angry because he feels they are being kept in the dark.  Sanderson and his team, Cernik, Eva and Stevens, break into Command Centre where Sanderson stuns Maya and Tony.

Eva brings up Tora on the big screen and Sanderson says it is as he suspected, a planet.  They wonder if it is habitable, and Sanderson suggests another astro prediction to determine that.  The group gather in a seance and in his trance-like state, Sanderson announces that there is a habitable planet at the centre of Tora.

Meanwhile, in the Eagle, Commander Koenig discovers that Tora has shifted position and is now on a collision course with Alpha.  He contacts Alpha to warn them and tell them to put the base on Red Alert, but the group remain in their trance until Koenig returns to Alpha.

John accuses the surface exploration team of mutiny but Helena tells him that the team are suffering from green sickness, due to their exposure to the lifeless environment on the Moon's surface.  She says that Sanderson's team have spent more time on the surface than anyone else.
