Background
The screenplay was completed by August 13th, 1974 and was in the studio fourteen days later.
Despite illness, actress Margaret Leighton played Arra and confided to Keith Wilson that she did not
really have a grasp of science fiction and was worried because she did not understand her lines of dialogue. This would
be Margaret Leighton's final performance as she died shortly afterwards.
In a cost-effective solution, the mines featured in this episode were made from plastic dishes bought
from Woolworths.
The Atherian ship was designed by Brian Johnson and made as a four foot five inch model carved from
a solid piece of wood.
