Well, my mother thought I was a beautiful baby! These are come of the earliest pictures in my scrapbook. As
far back as I can remember there was no doubt that my life would be in show business and I hoped to be a star.
My mother was equally keen for me to succeed. I gave my first public perfomance at the old East Ham Palace music
hall when only two and a half. Mother coated my face with strawberry jam, gave me a jam pot, and I went on and sang
Dear Little Jammy Face.
We moved to Westcliff and then Ilford but I kept up my singing and dancing lessons.
