Over the years the people of King's Oak have known their share of heartbreak and loneliness, ruin and desolation.  They have faced up to the darker side of human experience much as other people do - with some quiet courage and some cowardice. 



April, 1967.  Disaster hits the Motel.  A wartime bomb is triggered by workmen. 
But from the wreckage is to emerge a better and brighter establishment.  


For Meg's son, Sandy, one other good thing emerges:  his write-up on it all gets him a job as a trainee reporter on the local paper.
He's pictured with editor Cyril Stanford, played by Malcom Russell.
