Alison Cotterill prepares nervously for her first day working for David and Barbara. 
 
David tells Sandy that he is goiing to send an airmail letter to Lloyd Munro in America because he is the nearest thing Barbara has to a father.  Sandy asks him what he is going to do about Meg who is still on her round the world trip, and wouldn't want to miss his wedding. 
 
At the Coach House (Barbara and David's new home) Barbara Brady gets Alison Cotterill sorted out with an apron.  She asks Alison if she would unpack David's china.
 
Miranda Pollard asks David where Adam Chance is and David tells her that he is in the office.
 
Jill Harvey joins Adam Chance in the office and Adam says he knows he has been giving her a rough time recently, and he is sorry.  He tells Jill that he is going to move out of Chimney's and back into the motel.  "It's up to you," says Jill, trying to hide her disappointment. 
 
Chris Hunter comes into reception and chats to Sandy who is on reception duty.  Chris notices Miranda Pollard sitting on her own in the reception area and goes over to join her.  He says he knows this disco and asks her if she would like to come with him.  Miranda says she would love to.  Miranda and Chris leave reception together, Chris with a backward glance at Sandy. 
 
Moments later J. Henry Pollard comes into reception and asks Sandy if he knows where Miranda is.  Sandy tells him that she left a few moments ago.  "You mean she just walked out?" asks J. Henry Pollard.  "Yes," says Sandy.  "On her own?" asks J. Henry, and Sandy doesn't reply.
 
Benny climbs up a ladder at Stonebank Farm to mend the roof of shed.  "Mr Cotterill.  The goats got loose again," he shouts.  Doris Luke and Reg Cotterill come running out of the house.
 
Miranda Pollard and Chris Hunter sit together in the motel reception.  Diane passes through reception and stares at them.
 
Diane Hunter takes a tea tray into the office for Adam Chance.  Diane asks him if Miranda and Chris know each other and Adam tells her they have been introduced.  Diane tells Adam that she has just seen Chris with Miranda in reception.
 
In reception Chris Hunter reminds Miranda Pollard that she is engaged to Adam Chance.  Miranda tells Chris that she doesn't want to be tied down and tells Chris that she is thinking of going home soon.  Chris says he will be going home soon as well.
 
Marion Owen asks Doctor Farnham if he has found a replacement for her yet and John Farnham says no.  Marion Owen tells him that she thinks he hasn't even tried to find a replacement in the hope that she wouldn't leave
 
Benny falls from a ladder and Doris Luke tends to a bad cut on Benny's arm.  Reg Cotterill looks at the cut and tells Benny that he should go to see the doctor about it.
 
Reg Cotterill goes with Benny to the doctor's surgery but Doctor Farnham tells him that the surgery is closed.  Reg explains that Benny has cut his arm badly and he thought it best to get it seen to.  Doctor Farnham looks at Benny's arm and tells Reg that he was right to bring Benny.
 
Reg Cotterill waits for Benny in the doctor's waiting room and a lady sits down next to him.  She introduces herself as Ivy Pruett and tells Reg that she has just moved into the district.  Benny comes out of the doctor's consulting room with his arm in a sling and Reg introduces him to Ivy Pruett.
 
Reg Cotterill and Benny return to Stonebank Farm and Reg tells Alison that he met a nice lady at the doctor's surgery.  "Very friendly.  Pity there weren't more people like her in the world," says Reg.
 
Chris Hunter goes to see Rosemary at the sanitorium and Rosemary tells him that she found one of Barbara Brady's books in the lounge.  She asks Chris what he thinks of Barbara and Chris says he doesn't know her very well.  "She's very attractive and intelligent.  She'll make your father a good wife.  I couldn't.  I want you to give them both my very good wishes.  After all the unhappiness I've caused your father I would have liked to tell him that myself," says Rosemary.  She says she might be out of hospital by the time Barbara and David get married in the summer.  "No Mum, they're getting married the week after Easter," Chris tells her.  Rosemary looks at him, tears welling in her eyes.  "Mum don't cry.  Mum," pleades Chris.
 
John Farnham joins Marion Owen in the surgery and tells her that he went to see Doctor Butterworth and he is not retiring after all.  John Farnham tells Marion that there is no need for her to leave now.  Marion Owen tells him that she has been thinking about it a lot and she thinks she is needed at the surgery more than at the motel.  John Farnham says he is very glad.
 
Barbara Brady leaves Alison Cotterill alone at the Coach House whilst she goes shopping.  The phone rings and Alison takes the call, and writes down a message on the notepad.  David Hunter arrives home at the Coach House and Alison asks him if he will be needing her when Miss Brady goes away.  "Away?" asks David.  Alison tells David that she took a phone call for Barbara and hands him the note pad.
 
Marion Owen goes to the motel and tells Jill Harvey that she won't be taking the job as housekeeper after all. 
 
David and Barbara discuss Barbara's trip to promote her latest book which will take her to Tokyo, Singapore and Hawaii.  Barbara tells David that the plans for the trip were made six months ago before they decided to get married.  "I'm surprised you aren't angry," says Barbara.  David says he is glad that she has a job which she enjoys.  Barbara tells David that she has no intention of going on any trip.  "I thought you might be a bit angry, or hurt," says Barbara.  "Are you hurt?" she asks David.  "Yes," says David.  "I was waiting for some sort of reaction," says Barbara.  David turns and kisses her on the lips.  "You've just got it," says David, and Barbara laughs.
 
J. Henry Pollard sits in reception.  Chris Hunter makes a phone call in reception and after he has finished making the call he passes J. Henry as he walks through reception.  J. Henry Pollard calls Chris over and asks him if he can spare a few moments.  Chris retraces is steps and sits down with J. Henry Pollard.  "What are you up to?" J. Henry Pollard asks Chris.  He says he knows he took Miranda out and came back in the early hours of the morning.  "You play what games you like but not with Miranda," warns J. Henry.  He tells Chris that he and Miranda will be leaving soon.  "I think you'll find there's been a change of plan.  Bye," says Chris and walks off.
