An actress from the day she was born, Noele Gordon always knew just where she was headed. 'Wasn't I pretty,' says
Noele today, and this little Pierrot had the audiences applauding as she sang 'Dear Little Jammy Face'. The odd smudge
and a jamjar kept her image up.
Convent life gave Noele a new angle on performing. The nuns were shocked by her love of the stage, but young Noele
soon converted them. She played a comic vicar at stage school, then the Sisters dressed her up for the annual Fete,
put her in a tent, and charged sixpence a head for credulous parents and friends to ogle 'The Vision of St. Ursula'.
Her miniature nun's habit delighted everyone.
